Post-Rock is rock n roll music without the front man, the lyricists, the singer, the Rolling Stone interviewee, and the vocals. It works best while doing the dishes, walking the dog, or running at the YMCA. Since 8th grade you have been enslaved by lyrics and the mind controlling powers of the songwriter. Now you can be free. Imagine that great part of your favorite song when band “breaks it down” or slowly builds to climax of rock bliss. You are ready for post-rock!
M2 introduced me to the post-rock world last summer and I have been slowly collected a nice library of instrumental (and mostly instrumental) rock n roll. Some of you will love it, some of you will hate it, but those who dig it-will really dig it.
I have uploaded Austin, Texas’ Explosions in the Sky. This album is entitled “The Earth is Not a Cold, Dead Place.”

I still think the quintessential post-rock album is Sam Prekop's first solo album, even though it defies pretty much every rule you set forth in your post.
